About the Author, Sue Grundfest
Sue
Grundfest combined her lifelong love for animals and volunteer work
to found Love Dog Adventures LLC, a leading supplier of books and
toys for children, including Coco the Love Dog book. Coco,
her miniature poodle, served as the main inspiration for the venture.
"Coco cannot be everywhere so I had to find
a way for her love to reach far beyond our small world; her sensitivity
knows no bounds and her connection with humans, particularly children,
should be celebrated," shares Sue.
Ms. Grundfest has been working with her miniature poodle, Coco,
for eight years now as a certified pet therapy pair. They enjoy
making visits to charitable organizations throughout the New York
Metro area like Rivington House, New Alternatives for Children (NAC),
Lighthouse International, Coalition for the Homeless and Bide-A-Wee
to name just a few.
"It was during a visit that Coco and I had with a blind child
that I came to truly understand her ability to empower young people.
The child said that she often feels invisible but Coco always remembers
her. It was truly amazing," recalls Sue.
When Sue and Coco are not making pet therapy visits,
Sue enjoys traveling, reading, attending the theater and crafts.
In addition to her work with Love Dog LLC, Sue is Vice President
at a global cosmetics company based in New York where she has enjoyed
working for the past twenty-one years. She considers having started
the company's corporate volunteer program her proudest professional
achievement.
A lifelong volunteer both in her professional and personal life,
Ms. Grundfest serves on the Business Advisory Council for the Murry
Bergtraum High School as well as the First Step Program of the Coalition
for the Homeless and Lighthouse International. She is on the Board
of Directors of Bide-A-Wee.
Currently Sue resides on the Upper East Side in Manhattan with Coco. |
